• Day - 1. Rhine and Mosel Rivers:
Arrival in Frankfurt airport. It's a short ride to Bacharach located on the banks of the Rhine. Here, surrounded by the vineyards of the Rhinegau, you'll have an opportunity to settle in to your new day in Europe. After lunch we’ll cruise down the romantic Rhine. You'll want to be out on the deck, as we'll pass castles, small towns, and the rugged Rhine Gorge framed by the Lorelei. In St.Goar we'll hop back on the bus, leave the busy Rhine behind and make our way to the lazy Mosel River.

• Day - 2. A Castle and the Mosel:
You'll have a full-day exploring the heart of the Mosel River valley. First you'll visit Burg Eltz, Europe's best-preserved medieval castle. Later you'll visit several villages along the river, each with its own unique style and character. We'll return to our hotel by mid-afternoon leaving plenty of time to experience the town.

• Day - 3. On the way to France:
We'll head south today, but before leaving Germany we'll make a stop in the Black Forest for a look at cuckoo-clock country. Afterward we'll cross the Rhine into France's lovely Alsace region

• Day - 4. Alsace:
We'll visit Colmar's charming city center this morning. Because of its beauty, Colmar was left unscathed by the bombs of WWII. You'll enjoy strolling the cobbled streets framed by half-timbered houses. After lunch we'll travel the Route du Vin, a local road traversing the heart of the Alsace wine region. Later, we'll arrive in Beaune, the wine-producing hub of the famed Côte d'Or, in time for an orientation walk before dinner

• Day - 5. The Villages and Vineyards of Burgundy:
We'll do a circle route through Burgundy today visiting some of the villages that make this region famous for food and wine

• Day - 6. The Route de Napoleon to Provence:
Today we'll head south looping through the villages of the Côte du Rhône. You'll visit the wonderfully preserved aqueduct known as Pont du Gard, followed by a look at the fortified cities of Avignon and Arles.

• Day- 7. Provence:
Today we'll visit the hill towns of the Luberon. This area, made famous by author Peter Mayle, sits quietly in the mountains. You'll enjoy visiting villages such as Gordes, Roussillon, and Apt. If we are lucky, we'll catch the weekly "market day" in one of the villages, finding a treasure of locally produced foods, arts, and crafts

• Day - 8. To the Cinque Terre:
Today we’ll drive to Italy’s Cinque Terre - five villages nestled amongst the vineyards and dipping into the sea. Once we arrive at the coast, we'll leave our bus behind and board the local train for a short 15-minute ride to Monterosso. You’ll have the remainder of the day to relax and enjoy the village.

• Day - 09. Tuscany:
In no time we'll make the short drive to Florence, arriving in time to visit the Accademia for a look at Michelangelo's masterpiece, David. Later, we'll take an orientation walk around town, visiting the famous sights of this Renaissance city.

• Day - 10. The Chianti Region:
We'll begin our day on the Strada vino del Chianti Classico, visiting several villages of the region. Later we'll return to Florence, leaving you with some free time the remainder of the day and evening.

• Day- 11. Siena:
Today we'll visit Siena, a fortified medieval city. After an orientation walk around town, you'll have time to do a little exploring on your own and have lunch. Later we will travel to Gubbio just in time for a grand dinner together.

• Day- 12. Assisi:
You'll have the morning in Gubbio to hike in the hills, get in some shopping, or just relax and enjoy. Later we'll travel just a short distance to Assisi. Famous for St. Francis, Assisi will give you a grand view of the rolling countryside, some great shopping opportunities, and a chance to visit Giotto's beautifully frescoed walls of the Duomo.

• Day- 13. Umbria to Rome:
Rome… it is said all roads lead to this Eternal City and we'll drive directly into its historic core. The afternoon will be spent visiting the sights of ancient Rome. A local guide will introduce you to the Colosseum, Forum, and Pantheon as well as other "Caesar-laced" sights. After dinner, we'll stroll through the city center taking in the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, and Trevi Fountain
